Albert, a General Dentist achieved his first degree at Poznan, Poland then took a Masters in Restorative Dentistry at the world-renowned Eastman College at University College Hospital in London. Here he developed his particular interest in aesthetic dentistry.

“Our way of working is patient-centred and caring, going above and beyond to get the very best result possible, something which I firmly believe. I am quite obsessive about my work. In restorative dentistry, 1 mm at the front of a patient’s mouth can make all the difference. I particularly enjoys the challenge of complex restorative cases. “It’s like an enhanced version of general dentistry,” “fillings, crowns, bridges – and developing the awareness of how and when to refer a patient to a specialist, then liaising with him or her. It’s really collaborative. Once the specialist has placed the implant and screw, a general dentist like me does the rest, placing the crown accurately. When you are working on the front teeth, the aesthetic aspect is crucial and at Eastman College I learned that it’s all about the planning stages. You don’t just do a filling and hope for best; you do careful mock-ups, the dental equivalents of architectural drawings, to show what the final result should look like. This makes sure everyone is on the right page and for the best cases it can be life-changing. Say someone’s had a gap or a damaged front tooth they’ve hated for years, I feel really proud when they see their new, regular, healthy smile and they’re just so grateful.”

Widely known as Sue, Zufishan is proud to live up to her name which means ‘Spreader of light’ in Urdu. Having qualified as a dentist in Pakistan, she also holds a dental nursing qualification and is recognised by the GDC as a dental Hygienist and Therapist

“As a child growing up in a remote village near Peshawar, there were no female dentists,” she recalled. “I decided I wanted to be the first female dentist to help people in the village. Luckily my parents put a high priority on education and I was very lucky to win a place at dental school.

After I married and came to England, I wanted to work here after getting inspired by a dentist. He was always so careful and gentle and for him the patient always comes first. I ended up working with him on a lot of implant surgery: he makes the procedures look so smooth and easy. I learn a lot from watching him and our other expert dentists. I love surgery and once I have a general dentistry qualification, I’m hoping to train as a specialist orthodontist.”

When not working at the Fitzroy Dental Practice, Zufishan enjoys spending time with her two lively children, plus painting, hiking and exploring the natural world.”
