Inlays and onlays can help to restore and protect damaged or decaying teeth.

They are typically used towards the back of the mouth, usually on teeth showing signs of damage or decay. They offer more coverage than a filling butt slightly less than a crown. They are also used to replace old silver amalgam fillings.

Inlays are fitted within the four corners of a tooth while onlays overlap the four corners. Each is made specifically for your individual tooth. Inlays and onlays can be made from a variety of materials, but most of our patients choose tooth-coloured options to blend in undetectably with their natural teeth.

Each restoration is custom-made for you by our laboratory technicians to ensure the correct size and a comfortable fit before the tooth is bonded into place.
